If you’re from Ontario Canada you no doubt noticed there’s a provincial election going on and for the first time in a long time, I’m not sure who to vote for. I’m generally a Liberal supporter as their social and fiscal policies align with my own but frankly I’m not happy with how they’ve performed in the last few year. They squandered a lot of tax payer money for partisan gains along with a lot of other stupid moves but lol the other candidates to me are not a better choice.

The PCs are the only other party that may win power and like their federal cousin’s, they’ve taken a sharp right on fiscal matters. I absolutely hate the notion that cutting business and taxes will be enough to stimulate the economy, supply side economics does not work!!! In order for the economy to grow, you need consumer demand! I mean think about it for a second, if you’re a business owner are you going to hire more people simply because the government taxes you less? No that’s profit in your pocket, you only hire when you don’t have enough employees to keep up with demand.

It’s not a hard concept but supply side economics (aka Reganomics, trickle down theory) has somehow become fiscal policy orthodoxy in the Western world for some reason and look what it has brought us. I mean taxes in both Canada & the US are lower than they were in the 1980s, with that line of thinking we should be swimming in jobs…

Sigh who to choose, who to choose and picking the lesser of two evils sucks…
