Another new toy

So last weekend I traded the CA P90 RDS Proline AEG for a Cyma AK-74M. Yeah I’ve had a couple of AK-74Ms now but the P90 has been sitting in my closet gathering dust for over 2 years and I can at least use the AK as a loaner to friends and family who come play (the P90 is a bit more difficult for newbs to get use to).

Looks like any other AK-74M on the airsoft market, though I do think the folding full stock is kind of cool. Chronies in at 365 fps so it’s good for outdoor use, I can’t wait for the warm weather to be upon us!

Thanks Jason!

Jason picked up a TM Glock 18C package last week which came with a lot of “stuff” he didn’t care about so he gave it to me, a 14- threaded barrel and even cooler tritium night sights!

Looks pretty cool, I wasn’t able to get a picture of the sights but will try tomorrow. His Glock 18C came assembled but missing some pieces so it’s going to be like a puzzle to put back together.

Fixed and scary…

So Maggie’s friend’s husband came over and looked at my furnace today and said there was nothing wrong. Not 100% sure what he did but it works (for now?) so I guess that’s all that matters. There was a scary moment though, on a whim I decided to go into the furnace room and I could smell gas! I was thinking about waiting till tomorrow to call the guy but decided to call Embridge as I didn’t want to take the risk.

The Embridge technician came by in about 30 minutes and inspected the furnace, he confirmed that there was a bit of gas which was probably residual from whatever work was done today. He was very thorough and actually found a small leak in the piping going to my water heater! It was small enough that you couldn’t smell it but his detector picked it so he tightened it with his tools. All in all I’m happy with the outcome, my furnace is fixed and there’s no leak anywhere now.

Damn it!

It’s 1 AM right now and the house our house is sitting at 20C and falling… 🙁 Our thermostat is usually set at 22C as Maggie’s mom likes it warm for B, the heater has been running since we got home at 9PM and it’s getting colder… The gas line should be ok because I have hot water from my natural gas water heater but no heat. I called my dad knowing he’d be up, he’s coming by now to drop off some electric heaters, in the mean time we also had a couple of heaters so we put one heater in Brandon’s room and gave one to Maggie’s mom.

Ugh not what I needed!!! Hope it’s something stupid and not expensive.

10AM edit: I think the problem with my furnace is electrical because if I turn it off and turn it back on, I’ll have heat for about 30 minutes. Other than that though I ain’t going to prod any further as I have no idea what I’m doing. Maggie’s friend’s husband is a certified HVAC technician so we’re trying to get in contact him, I also called the two numbers on the furnace itself, the Sears 24 hour emergency number is out of service though the other one is up. Left a message and a technician is suppose to call me back, I guess we’ll see…

This sucks big time!

Busy day…

Today was pretty busy, not stressful but busy. For lunch we went to have dim sum, when I pulled into the parking lot of the Chinese mall Brandon immediately said “No haircut!” lol I guess he recognizes the place. Inside Brandon kept directing me away from the barber that we usually get his hair cut at, when I walked a bit closer to it he whimpered, haha it was pretty cute and I loved how tightly he grabbed me when he was afraid. He was a bit tired and grumpy at the restaurant, it was difficult to keep him up…

Afterwards we came home, Maggie put B to sleep and I tweaked some of my airsoft gear. After he woke up we went to Kevin and Julia’s house to see their 7 month old daughter Jolene and she was cute. Heh made me miss when Brandon was like a Michelin man, I love the baby fat and smell! He was surprisingly good to her, rocked her gently when she was in the rocker and even gave her a kiss on the cheek when we asked him to.

Later we asked if Brandon wanted a baby brother or sister and he said yes which was new, he usually says no. Too bad Maggie doesn’t want another one, I’d be in for it. 🙂
