Character Assasination Time

I guess the Tories must think there will be an election soon since its readying attack ads for Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff. Our neighbors to the south have rejected the republicanesque style of politics, when are we as Canadians going to demand the same from our politicians? Enough with the mud slinging and name calling, stop telling us how bad the other guy is and instead tell us what you’ll do to make this country a better place.

“The failure to brand him in the way we did Stéphane Dion is actually worrying some people – that maybe we’ve missed our opportunity to brand him negatively in the eyes of Canadians, and that an impression of competence is now sticking,” said a government insider. He predicted the ads would start surfacing over the summer. Source: TheStar.com

On another note I particularly enjoyed Rick Mercer’s rant (Feb 24th 2009, can’t link to it directly sorry) the nerve of Mr. Harper going on CNN to tell the US that it was former President Bush’s fault that Canada was dragging its feet on climate change. That’s almost funny if it weren’t so sad.
