Awesome Sunday Flag Raiders Game!

Man I’m really out of shape, 7 hours on my feet (mostly running), wearing 10kg of gear and carrying a 6kg gun is tiring!!! Went with Mark to play a “stupid game” at the FlagRaiders field in Kitchener hosted by Wil from SD-Unit and it was a blast. I was really rusty but as the game wore on, I got a little better. πŸ˜‰

Most of the afternoon the teams were split in two, digital camo vs everything else and our team kept getting slaughtered because more than 50% of my teammates were newbs. That and we had absolutely no stragey at all but it was still a lot of fun. πŸ™‚ I ended up hooking up with two Chinese guys to form our own group within the team and after that we survived a bit better. Fire superiority is definitely important and we played better as the day progressed. One guy’s name was John and I forgot what the other guy’s name was but thanks for being great teammates!

The pistol’s game was a lot of fun as well and to be honest I enjoy playing with a good GBB (my Glock 18C is a workhorse!) than with an AEG (assault rifle).

I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked, too busy playing. I did snap a few shots of the guys in the safe zone and walking to one of the open fields, here they are…

The last one shows Mark decked out in his setup, it’s a shame we didn’t get to take a picture together oh well. It was Mark’s first field game and he had a good time, phew I was worried that after making him spend all that money he wouldn’t like it.

This was the first field game with my G&P M4A1 and overall it performed very nicely. With a BB muzzle velocity of 100m/s (using 0.25g bb’s) and a finely tuned Hop Up, I could hit stationary targets about 35m away pretty well. Hitting moving targets at a distance was more difficult, it was my first time gaming with the AEG but I will learn its “ins and outs” as time progresses. I need to work on my upper body stamina because I got really tired of carrying that thing but hey, it’s my first field game of the season. πŸ™‚

The only thing I have to complain about with the gun really isn’t its fault, with a 9.6V battery the ROF was too high and sometimes the M4A1 would dry fire which was very annoying. The fix is easy though I’ll be using a 8.4V battery for the gun from now on, that should drop my ROF enough for the mags to catch up.

Aside from that the G&P M4A1 is a very worthy field assault rifle and I definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a high quality M4A1. Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth the money and it’s cheaper than going with a TM M4A1 then upgrading the internals and getting a metal body. πŸ˜€

Great game and I can’t wait for the next one, next week maybe? πŸ˜‰ We’ll see…

  1. I CANNOT believe you didn’t tell me! I could have brought the kitties to say hello!

  2. Ooo target practice on fast moving objects would be fun. πŸ˜‰
