Busy busy, well not really

Sorry for the lack of updates I’ve been pretty busy playing a new game for my PSP, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3.  The reviews were only ok but I’m enjoying it quite a bit. 🙂  Saw the doctor on Saturday with Maggie and got to hear the fetus’ heart, that was rather exciting.  Err that’s about it I guess I hate the shitty weather we’re getting right now but I’ll complain about later maybe.

The big 3-0!

Today I turn 30 and it certainly sounds like a big number.  Maggie was bugging me about it this morning as are some of the guys at the office but in all honesty it doesn’t bother me much.  It’s just a number, lol mentally I’m probably closer to 12 but that’s another matter. 😉  Well anyway happy birthday to me woo…

Maggie got me a Playstation 3 slim and I picked up used copies of GTA4 and Street Fighter 4 along with Marvel VS Capcom 2 from the online Playstation store.  Fun stuff and I have so many games I have to play right now.  Thanks babe, it was a great gift!!! =D

Push forward, advance, ADVANCE!!!

So I picked up copy of Modern Warfare 2 on Tuesday and have been playing the last two nights after work, and in the process driving Maggie crazy lol.  The story continues where Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare left off or err it does but 5 years later, the world is still a messed up place and things are getting worse.  Won’t give away any more info, don’t want to be a spoiler but I have to say I rather enjoyed the single player portion of the game.  Multiplayer isn’t bad (there isn’t any of the cheesy stuff yet) though limiting matches to 9 vs 9 for the PC is a real drag.

Sigh the only problem is that there is so much cool equipment in the game and now I want to get a lot more gear for airsofting lol.  Yeah the gear bug bit me pretty badly, now I have a whole lot of stuff I need to buy. 😉

Oh I also picked up a copy of Gran Turismo PSP but I’ll play that after I’m burnt out on MW2.

Hard wired to play videogames

Heh now when Maggie yells at me for playing videogames I can blame my biology. 😀 Evolution made me this way, yeah that works.

Allan Reiss, MD, and his colleagues have a pretty good idea why your husband or boyfriend can’t put down the Halo 3. In a first-of-its-kind imaging study, the School of Medicine researchers have shown that the part of the brain that generates rewarding feelings is more activated in men than women during video-game play.

Battlefield 2142

Saw the official trailer to Battlefield 2142 and man I’m drooling at the thought of playing that game. 😀 For those who do not know, I’m a huge gaming freak and a pretty big Battlefield 2 buff (Master Gunnery Sergeant here). The multiplayer game play looks like it’ll be awesome and the new units/weapons look like a lot of fun. It would be nice if EA/DICE could add a bit of story to the game though and perhaps include a single player mission.

Anyway if you’re a gamer, check out the Battlefield 2142 trailer. 🙂

Southpark, Scientology and PSP

If you’ve been keeping up with the entertainment news, you probably heard about how season 9’s 12th episode of Southpark was pulled because. For those who haven’t, check out this brief blurb as it will explain pretty much what’s going on.

The dust-up gained steam last week when Isaac Hayes, a practicing Scientologist who has long been the voice of the character Chef, quit after objecting to a “South Park” episode called “Trapped in the Closet,” which lampooned both the religion and Tom Cruise.

I don’t see what the big deal is, Southpark makes fun of everyone no matter the race or religion. Blacks, Asians, Whites, Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc yet none of these groups is up in arms.

If Scientology wants to be taken more seriously perhaps it and its members should not react in such extreme and childish manner. I guess with cults this is what you get, a bunch of freaks. Anyway the offending episode has been pulled off the air but you can still get it here. 😉

Oh on a side note, the reason behind the lack of posts lately is because I’m busy playing Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror on the PSP. I just finished the game and it is totally awesome, definitely worthy of the Syphon Filter name, if you’re a fan you definitely have to try it out too! It’s not as run and gun like the previous games, this one requires a bit more stealth and accuracy since munitions can be scarce at times.

Infrared kicks ass and shows me where all the enemies are. 😉

PSP is awesome…

Was talking to my sister Estelle and she asked “why do you update your blog so infrequently?” Well the simple answer is, I’ve been spending a lot of my free time playing GTA: Liberty City for the PSP. Heh anyone who’s played any of the GTA games knows how addictive it can be. 😉

I thought I would only use the PSP when I’m traveling but I’ve played it a lot these last few weeks, more so than my computer or PS2. Heh that’s the kid in me I guess…

In other news, I’ve decided on a name for my upcoming business venture. I’m still going to be tight lipped about it, patience, you’ll read about it soon enough. 😉
