On Saturday I attended the TAC10 airsoft convention.  The team had a table and it was nice to see some familiar faces along with new/potential players.  Man standing for ~10 hours is damn tiring but totally worth it. 🙂  About the only thing to report was that there were full metal/black guns for sale, now that airsoft is on a better legal footing (for now maybe).  I didn’t buy much, just my season’s stash of BBs along with a few odds and ends.

It was Jeremy’s birthday and Odessa was kind enough to provide a birthday cake.  LOL it was funny to see his face when the team and then everyone at the convention sign happy birthday to him. 😉  Anyway yeah that’s it, you can bet the GHOSTS will be back for TAC11.

My hat goes off to Dave, perhaps he’s the savior of airsoft in Canada.  I think I’ll take a wait and see approach while having the legal right to buy full metal guns is great, now that we’re on the radar of the government I can see politicians using airsoft as an issue for scoring political points too.

Despite the love in on ASC, I think people should also understand we’re at the whim of the government.  It’s legal right now (well certain brands and models) but things can change very quickly too.

Last night I went to TTAC3 for a quick and dirty CQB session and I have to say, it’s been a while since I’ve had so much fun.  Absolutely no yelling on my part woo, all the players played well and there was a lot of pain to dish out (I have two bleeders on my forehead).  Man I love the KWA MP7A1, it’s such an awesome gun indoors and it’s so much fun to shoot.  I can see myself using this thing for mil sims when the outdoor season heats up, I just need a few more mags then I’m set.

Anyway yeah just wanted to say that I had a great game, I hope next week’s session is as much fun. =D

A few months ago I picked up a copy of Modern Warfare 2 and man it’s really tickling my airsoft urges lol.  I just picked up a used Phantom Maritime CIRAS vest in khaki because the Rangers in the game wear the same vest (but in Ranger Green) and I thought it looked good.  Usually I don’t like vests as big and bulky but this isn’t too bad I guess, good for those outdoor mil sims since it can carry a lot of stuff;  it’s not something you want to be doing CQB with.

I know it looks greenish but the vest is khaki in colour.   Anyway it’s still a few months till the next outdoor game, I guess I’ll report then how it is then. God I’m not even a gear guy and I have like 5 vests all in different configurations.

Earlier in the week Mike and I traded AEGs, I gave him my Echo 1 416 and he passed me his Echo 1 M14 SOCOM.  It was a good trade and both parties got exactly what they were looking for. 🙂  I ordered a few parts from eHobby Asia on Wednesday and got them today, damn that was really fast!  Anyway most of the parts were internal upgrades since Echo 1 QC is err questionable but anyway I was able to install almost everything aside from the M14 gears.  Seems like Echo 1 or whomever it sources for M14s use version 2/3 gears instead of version 7 (ver 7 spur gear is smaller) so I wasn’t able to install those but everything else has been pretty much replaced internally.

I’d like to change the outer barrel assembly from SOCOM to full length but that can come later.  Hmm I’ll probably have to get a new Prometheus inner barrel too but meh I can worry about that then. 😉 Anyway here’s a quick picture the rifle, I think the Aimpoint will be more useful than a rifle scope considering the engagement distances in airsoft.  If I play spotter/sniper I always have the CA M24.  Next up a sweet paint job…

Generally I don’t write about the airsoft games I attend anymore since it’s usually more of the same but I have to say I rather enjoyed the skrimish I played yesterday. Essentially a newbie game, I only recognized about 3 of the 30+ people who attended and figured that it’d be err an interesting day.  Early on the games were quite easy and I racked up a ton of kills but what really made my day was when I took over command of my team. It was great to see the new players were receptive to playing a more aggressive and coordinated style of game and the results were easy to spot, we dominated pretty much every game after.

In one scenario where op-for was suppose to transport a VIP to the school bus with us defending the position, they failed and one of the new players stated that the objective was “impossible”.  Heh well Blue-for showed them how it’s done and we also eliminated all enemies within 15 minutes. =D  The key really was that our team was working as a unit while the opposition played as individuals.

It was a good day with a good group. I certainly look forward to playing with those guys again and hopefully help them take the airsoft experience to the next level.

Well I took Monday off to recover from the mil sim that I played over the weekend, didn’t quite make it the 24 hours but close. 🙂 Anyway there’s not much to report, man it was cold and wet (though the goretex I wore certainly worked well), I had a good time and am super sore…   Here’s a team picture, don’t we look pretty?
