Emergency’s over, look elsewhere

So with the declaration of the Emergency’s act, parliament is suppose to vote if it’s just and wouldn’t you know the Liberals cancelled the vote, then moved the cops in to clear out the Ottawa protest.  Now that they’re gone, how much do you want to bet they can cancel the act and not bother vote on anything.  The provinces are already heading towards removing all mandates, it could have been such an easy win for Trudeau to just meet with these people and listen to their complaints but no he needs to appear tough for his base.

The current day Liberal supporter is just as bad as the rabid Conservative, doing things to “own” the other side, absolutely ridiculous…  Well the Liberals have opened the door now and when future governments use the Emergency Act for protests they don’t like, they’ll have no right to complain.

Yeah fuck Trudeau and all the politicians, I fully support protests and civil disobedience because there’s nothing gained when one protests nicely.

Emergencies Act eh…

WW1, WW2, the FLQ crisis and now due to Trudeau’s abject failure as a leader, the emergencies act has been introduced for the truckers protest…  While the Emergencies act may be “new”, it evolved from the war measures act of the past that gives the federal government even more powers great.  I don’t support the trucker’s (though I do have some sympathies for their cause) but to say these protests rise to the level of the other incidents is laughable.  All levels of government have been pointing fingers at each other at who’s responsible and now Trudeau is stupid enough to take it on himself so by all means this is now your mess to clean up.

To solve this requires a political solution & engagement (as with any protest) but the Liberals prefer to name call and point.  I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that they think this is a policing issue, Trudeau loves Bill Blair who did a great job with the G20 in Toronto 10 years ago, maybe it’s time for the feds to break the laws themselves and use illegal tactics and he even believes in carding lol..  Did Blair did without any consequence, no in fact he got a promotion.

Let’s see what the feds do in the name of “safety” I’m sure some people’s individual rights will be trampled all over, but that’s ok because this substance free government just wants to look tough.

Nerf!

Yesterday the cub scouts had a Nerf battle at Archery Circuit and it took so much will power to not grab a gun and kill all the kids lol.  Watching them play really brought back my airsoft memories, ahh good times, maybe when Brandon is a bit older we’ll play some of that.  Anyway the facility was pretty cool and the kids had a great time which is what matters.

I also took some video and it turned out pretty well.

The first two videos are in 4K 120p slowed to 30 fps, the next video is part of a match shot in 4K 60p on my Canon EOS R5. The kids weren’t really aggressive which is natural, I was trying to tell each team in order to win, you have to advance farther forward but it’s nerve racking when someone is shooting at you (even if it’s just Nerf).

I should have let Brandon bring some of our Nerf guns, ahh well next time.

They won’t listen

It should be clear that criminals do not obey the laws and even the cops are a gun ban will not solve the issue of gun violence.

Testifying before the Commons public safety committee on Tuesday, Toronto Police Deputy Chief Myron Demkiw said that of the crime guns last year that investigators could trace, 86 per cent were smuggled into Canada from the United States — a trend he said has been on the increase since 2019.

“Our problem in Toronto are handguns from the United States,” he said in response to Conservative MP Raquel Dancho’s question about the Trudeau Liberals’ nearly billion-dollar federal buy-back program — one that would allow legal gun owners to turn in so-called military-style assault rifles banned by Ottawa a year-and-a-half ago.

“The issues around investing in what you described is certainly not going to deal with the crime problem we’re facing in Toronto, as it relates to the use of criminal handguns.”

Demkiw told the committee that, aside from addressing key causes of criminality in the community, money and effort should instead be spent on stemming the flow of illegal guns into Canada.

To be fair though, Liberals already know this, they’re pushing ahead because of the optics, they want further fool the public into thinking they’re doing something about gun violence when in reality it’s all smoke and mirrors. If their confiscation goes ahead, it’ll definitely cost over a billion dollars, money which could be better spent addressing the root causes of gun crime but that’s hard and all the Liberals can do is pander with easy answers…

Courage

This is pretty amazing, a gay man went to a book burning event in Tennessee, threw the bible into the fire then yelled Hail Satan!

Anti-LGBTQ+ pastor Greg Locke held a book burning in Tennessee last week, where he burned books including Harry Potter and Twilight to “deliver” his flock from demons. But as it turns out, he wasn’t the only one throwing some books on the pyre that night.

In a video posted on YouTube by Chris Hardin and his husband, the couple arrived at the book burning with a protest in mind. Hardin’s husband can be seen throwing a Bible on the fire and yelling “Hail Satan.”

“It took him shouting ‘I Burned a Bible’ several times before they stopped cheering and realized they’d been had,” Hardin wrote in the caption for the video.

How the hell can we have book burnings in this day and age, by the group that’s always complaining about being oppressed and crying about cancel culture.  Go Mr. Hardin & your husband, show how hypocritical these people really are.

A great walk

This morning I took Brandon to Lynde Shores for a walk and it was great to get out.  There were a ton of birds out, chickadees, sparrows, swallows, cardinals & even blue jays!  We rarely see the latter in our area so that was quite a treat.

Hehe yes we saw a bunch of white tailed deer too, this time in the forest.  There were a bunch of them and they were rather hard to shoot behind the brush but it was just nice to see them up and about. I recently picked up a Canon EOS R for Brandon to replace his EOS RP and he took some photos too.

He seems was more busy feeding the birds and enjoying the moment, I’m not sure if he likes photography as much anymore but it’s just nice to spend some time with him while I still can.  I’m sure in a few years I won’t be cool enough to hang out with so yes I’m enjoying this very much.

In the afternoon we cleaned out the kitchen & our main bathroom, we’re getting work done starting tomorrow so both needed to be cleaned out.  Both are in dire need of an upgrade, we’re not fancy but the 70s kitchen and bath will finally be replaced with something more modern and Maggie is super happy about that.

Back to the grind tomorrow and I’m lucky to enjoy my job, I even look forward to Mondays. 😉

Temp parking

So it’s been on my list of things to do for a while and I really do want to widen my driveway so I can park two cars abreast, our contractor came by to inform us that he’ll be dropping off a garbage bin as we’ll be renovating our kitchen & main washroom so I cleared some space on my snowy lawn lol.

It’s technically against bylaws so I certainly hope no one complains.  It’s a temporary thing, just for the duration of the renovation which should be about a week and a half.

Not even hiding it anymore

Hmm take a guess which political party in the US wants to ban the teaching of Nazis and similar political parties being low moral character…  Any idea?  Republicans aren’t even hiding it anymore but I guess they have to take these measures when their supporters are literal neo nazis…  It’s just lucky for the GOP that the Democratic party is absolutely incompetent and offer no real alternative to the dystopian corporate hell that is the current USA.

One is not like the other

I’ve been a lot less adventurous this winter so I decided to take a picture of my lenses and well one is not like the other.

Haha I don’t know if I’ll get the Canon RF 15-35mm lens, I like how the EF 16-35 version doesn’t expand so I might just keep it this way & I still eye those big white Canon lenses even though I know I probably won’t use them due to their weight but who knows what the future will bring. 🙂

Dad or daddy?

Brandon asked me tonight if he should call me dad instead of daddy…  I told him it doesn’t matter and that it’s up to him but man he’s growing up so damn fast, I really wish he’d grow slower.  I’m not ready for my little boy to be all grown up yet, I still have a lot of fathering to do. 🙁

I better enjoy all these moments because they’ll soon be a memory.
