So a week ago, terrorists attacked Paris and now many politicians and right wing pundits are saying we should deny Syrian refugees from coming to Canada and I couldn’t be more sick about it.  While I’m not a fan of Islam (or religion in general), the refugees are trying to escape the same people that are perpetrating the violence and we can’t forget that point.  If you want to have qualms with the vetting process to ensure that terrorists are not sneaking in fine but to deny the refugees altogether is just wrong.

We can’t give up our ideals and values in the name of security or the terrorists win.  I know some Western governments are already thinking up more draconian laws to further restrict our freedoms and I really hope that Canada doesn’t follow suit.  Terrorism & murder is already illegal, more laws won’t change a damn thing but burden the populace.
