Woo this weekend is the beginning to my 3 week vacation, I’m off next week and took the first week of January off too so I won’t be going back to work till January 11th! 😀 On Saturday morning I dropped off the Toyota to get the winter tires installed, I wanted to do it earlier but kept forgetting. Maggie & Brandon picked me up then we went to my mom’s place to help her with her water filter and then to my aunt Chrissie’s unit to help her to set up her wifi.
After that we went to visit grandma and it was nice. 🙂
She spoke mainly to my mom because they could converse easiest but I chimed in here and there too. Grandma was in a much better mood today, though when she seemed a bit down I would send Brandon over to give her a hug and kiss and she’d light right up. I wish I took a better & more pictures but oh well, after chatting for an hour in the cafeteria, we walked her back to her room then left. I always feel bad about leaving her, sigh dementia is difficult and she must be so afraid and there’s nothing I can do about it.
For lunch we went out for pho, I dropped my mom off then we went to pick up the Toyota. Maggie went out in the afternoon to get some food and in the evening Chris, one of Brandon’s friends from school and Beavers came over with his parents. The kids got along really well and I’m so glad that Slinky is well tempered because the kids well they can be loud and obnoxious haha. Maggie and I were talking with Dave and Amy and we have a lot in common. They called it a night around 8pm which was good because I wanted to watch the Democratic debate.
The debate was boring and the DNC is totally trying to protect Hillary, who the hell schedules a debate on a Saturday before xmas? Bernie was more aggressive but the candidates agreed with many points and unlike the Republican debates, there was a lot of talk about policy.
This morning Maggie went to play badminton, typically I go out with the boy but I was waiting for a delivery of ammo (which I’ll talk more about later) and that came pretty late, just before we left for swimming class. I enjoy watching Brandon do his activities, he’s getting better at swimming and it’s great to see the progress. When we got home I went to the backyard to check if Toronto Hydro installed the last required meter and woo we’re ready to turn on the solar panels!!!
Yes the back of my house is very busy and that’s the sight of renewable energy. 🙂 Maggie took Brandon to Winners to do some shopping a bit later while I stayed around the house then we chilled the rest of the afternoon/evening. Hehe poor Maggie she has to work tomorrow and I’m meeting a couple of friends for lunch so I’ll stick Brandon into day care. I’m going to have fun during the time off but I know it’ll fly right by.
