Bravo Bhutan!

I watched this TED talk over the weekend and it was amazing…

Climate change is the challenge to our civilization, anything else is inconsequential…  The petty religious differences, East vs West, US vs Russia, banking regulations, income inequality (one of my pet peeves), etc is nothing compared to the dangers of a warming planet.  I often hear people talk about the need to save the planet, the Earth will be here and life will go on even if we lose this fight, what we’re actually doing is saving ourselves from a mess we created.

Yes there’s only so much one person can do but if we all put in the effort we’d make a difference and I’m not talking about the stupid symbolic gestures like Earth day or Earth hour.  I’m trying to teach Brandon about living as environmentally responsible as we can and I want to leave the next generation a better world than we inherited from our parents.  I will live to see the ravages of climate change but it’s Brandon’s generation and those after his that will bear the brunt of it.

I hope humanity can save itself from doom and we have to stop screwing the kids to make a buck now.
