So ~10 years ago I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and it was a great beginner digital SLR camera, I learnt a lot over the years and recently I’ve been thinking about getting something a bit better.  Estelle needed a SLR camera for work so I gave her the XTi last weekend and picked up a used Canon 40D. This model was 8 years old so I got it for a good price and it bumps me from consumer level to prosumer and I’m really looking forward to learning with this thing.

I kept my 28-135mm lens (Estelle can have the old kit lens lol), anyway the 40D is much heavier and I’m already playing with the aperture and shutter settings, yes I had that available on the Digital Rebel but lol new camera spurs my interest in photography again.

Just a few pictures I took around the house, didn’t do anything special here but with the long weekend coming up, I’m definitely going to start playing with the thing. 🙂
