So yesterday I picked up a Canon EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM lens and at least physically it’s certainly has a better build than my EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens.  Based on the specs it should allow me to take much nicer photos and I tested it out last night at the end of year Beavers BBQ but more on that later after I go through the photos.

I was debating between the EF 24-105 and the 24-70 f/2.8 but with the latter substantially more expensive I settled for the more general purpose model though I know when I’m taking pictures in the dark I’m going to really miss the larger aperture. Anyway that’s it, I’m happy with the new lens and I can’t wait to start playing and learning how to take photos, a cursory look at some from last night showed some decent ones but again I’ll post that up a bit later. 🙂

Oh I know my 40D uses a APS-C sensor and the new lens is designed for full frame, I guess I’ll just have to get a better camera soon huh. 😉
