Congrats Dave & Tanya!

So this weekend the family (minus my dad) went to celebrate the marriage of my cousin David to his fiancee Tanya.  The wedding was held at a resort in the small town of Calibogie an hour West of Ottawa so yeah it was pretty far.  Estelle did all the work and booked a very awesome cottage through airbnb that was less than 5 minutes from the resort.  On Saturday after lunch we picked up my mom and headed off and arrived at the cottage just past 6.  Estelle, Irmran & Georgia would meet us a bit later and Megan had to find another place because she brought her dogs and pets weren’t allowed where we were staying.

After unpacking we went out to the local sports bar for some dinner and lol for a Saturday night it was completely empty.  I guess it’s more of a touristy thing and perhaps this is off season.  We returned home and Estelle’s family arrived shortly after.  The home was full of amenities and Brandon took full advantage, he particularly enjoyed the large air hockey table.

Sunday morning I dropped off my mom at the tea ceremony then I went for a walk, we were all going for a hike after I picked up my mom later but I wanted to get out to see what’s around.  The weather was around 1C which wasn’t too cold but I didn’t walk far because the trail in the backyard led across the backyards of all the other homes.  When my mom returned, she stayed in while the rest of us went for a nice walk.

Hehe Georgia was so damn cute, overall I’d say she was well behaved and I really missed holding a baby. 🙂  I can’t wait till she gets even chubbier ahh it’s going to be great. We picked up some lunch and while we were out, Brandon and I took over the only pokemon gym in town, we didn’t leave anything too powerful as it looks like the locals don’t play much.

After a bit of a rest we went to the wedding ceremony and I just realized I don’t have a picture of the bride and groom argh!

Though as you can see I didn’t have the best view…  They asked for family to sit in the front row, we were close so we obliged, wish we didn’t.  There was around an hour break between the ceremony and reception and well it’s a wedding so there were the usual speeches and whatever.  I find it really boring but I was still happy that we could share the wonderful moment with the lovely couple.  We left just past 8:30pm and I decided to drive home that night instead of the next day as I had a call and some work to do.

So yeah I’m working from home today, all rested up and overall it was a wonderful weekend and I’m lucky to spend it with my family. 🙂
