It’s thee holiday season and thus I’m really busy at work but needless to say life goes on. Today Eddy and I went to Silverdale to do some shooting and having not been to the range in about a month and a half I was quite pleased with my pistol work. I shot pretty well and rang the steel plates on a very consistent basis. One thing which was annoying though was that the Aero Precision lower I built last week doesn’t play too nice with my PSA 7.62×39 10.5″ AR upper, I had a few failures to feed and light primer strikes. I didn’t experience any of these problems with the Colt lower I’m wondering if I just need to break the lower in. The 10 round LAR mags were a no go, jammed like crazy but the ASC 5/30 magazines feed alright. I guess I just need to go to the range more. 😉
When I got home I meticulously cleaned everything, since I shoot corrosive 7.62×39 I have to clean those rifles right away but it’s been about 1k for both the HK SFP9 & Glock 17 so I took everything down and ugh there was a ton of carbon. Despite the gunk, both guns functioned very well but now they’re both silky smooth. I gave the DD MK18 a bit of cleaning love too, it’s been super reliable but yeah it’s never good to neglect guns and cleaning them is something that I rather enjoy.
Eddy took some pictures, I wanted to return the favor but the RO was pretty strict so we didn’t want to push it.
Brandon had a play date with Sophie in the afternoon and we played the rest of the evening. Wishing the weekend was a bit longer, sigh tomorrow is going to suck but unless I win the lottery I don’t have another choice but to go into the office. 🙂
