Toys are fun!

This weekend I did a lot a few chorers and picked up a couple of toys. First to start on Saturday we went to Ikea because Maggie wanted to pick up some stuff. We signed Brandon into the kid’s play center (he loves it there) while Maggie and I walked around the show room. She saw uh an organizer she liked and a small dresser so we picked up that stuff. Hehe while we were there I sneaked off to the place by the refund counter where they have extra screws and took a M6 ~150mm screw and I’ll post more on that later how I used it. 😉

After Ikea we went to Tenda Canada so I could pick up an order I made earlier in the week, 1k of Barnual 9x19mm ammo. 😀 This is super cheap ammo that’s good for plinking and practicing with so I figure why not since it was on sale. Saves me about $60-70 over brass cased stuff and since I don’t reload (yet) it’s perfect.

We’re not sure if this will feed and fire properly in Mario’s gun so I’ll bring some for him to try next time and if it does he’ll take a few boxes.  Hehe he’s still very much a RS newb and doesn’t stock ammo but I’m sure he’ll get there.

For lunch we had dim sum which was good then we went home and waited till it was time for swimming.  Brandon swam well then in the evening he had skating and it was great to see him on the ice again.  I was very happy that he didn’t forget everything he learnt previously and overall I’d say he did pretty well for his first time back in about 9 months.  We forgot to sign him up for the fall class. 🙁

Today Maggie went to badminton in the morning so I took Brandon to Walmart first to pick up a few odds and ends then to Dollarama & Bulk Barn, the latter to get some stuff for the Beavers session on Wednesday.  When we got home, Brandon did some colouring we watched a bit of TV and had some pizza for lunch.  In the afternoon I put together the furniture we purchased yesterday, finally took down our christmas tree and hehe chopped off 40mm off the M6 screw I got yesterday so I could put a new pistol grip on my CSA vz58.

I found the stock Fab Defense pistol grip too big for my hands and a bit uncomfortable.  This one new one is from the Czech Republic and a take on the A2 pistol grip typically found on AR15s.  My hands are small and this new grip fits me much better so I’m happy. 🙂  Earlier in the week I got a Magpul CTR stock in FDE so for the time being I replaced the B5 SOPMOD stock with that.  I miss the storage compartments though it’s significantly lighter and since it’s smaller I find the length of pull a bit more comfortable.

Yes the Daniel Defense lower has a 6 position buffer tube but even with that and the SOPMOD stock I found it a bit too long on the second shortest setting and too short on the first.

The rest of the afternoon/evening we didn’t do much, I played with B a bit and he loves being physical with me since he can’t do that with Maggie.

Now I’m just relaxing with the few hours I have left and getting ready for the upcoming work week.  Hehe it’s a short one for me as I will take Friday off to go to the range, Brayden is in for sure and Mario is a maybe.  We’ll do some work on the comp range run around with armor and have a great time, I can’t wait! 😀
