One of the perks of my job is that for every long weekend, I get an extra day so mine started on Friday. 🙂 I went to the range with Mario & Dan and my god, traffic was absolutely terrible. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since it’s the first long weekend of the spring and everyone is going to open their cottage.

It’s always a fun day when I go shooting and I was rather happy with my pistol work.  I haven’t shot much recently (not including the rifle class the previous weekend) and was worried that my skills would have deteriorated but it was pretty good.  Mario is starting to get a handle of pistol shooting and I can see him progressing every time out.  We stuck around till about 1 then came home, I was worried about traffic and wanted to be back in time to pick up Brandon from school.

Saturday as a family we went to the Niagara region to do some hiking and it was great!

The recreational trails were fun though some areas were a bit difficult for Brandon and he wanted to hold our hands.  Later we just walked on pavement and I think we were out for 3-4 hours so we got a decent amount of exercise.

On the way back, Maggie (yes Maggie!!!) wanted to go to the Arc’teryx store and since I love their stuff I was all in.  I did warn her that if we go that I’ll buy something and my prophetic words were correct.

I was initially thinking about getting another pair of boots or maybe some pants but saw this brown Goretex jacket that I really liked.  I already have militaryish Propper stuff but this is civilian gear and would look less out of place so I picked it up. 🙂  Told Maggie I was saving a bundle since its original price was $700, $420 is a steal but she didn’t understand…  Maybe if it were a purse lol.

Saturday evening I went out with my Pokemon buddies and raided a bunch of enemy gyms and that’s always fun.

It was raining for much of the day on Sunday so I tried out my new jacket and was perfectly dry. 😀  In the afternoon we went for a drive and it was fun, that’s something I really enjoy, just driving some place random with my family listening to music…

Today on our holiday Monday we actually slept in till 8am (woo yes that’s sleeping in for me) then went for dim sum for lunch.

LOL Brandon is always stuffing his face and it’s fun to tease him with food.  I’m glad eating is not something he has trouble with.  After lunch we went for another drive, today the weather is nicer so I had the sun roof open and enjoyed the fresh air.  When we got back, I mowed my back lawn and it was really overgrown. With all the rain and me being lazy, it got really bad.  I also pulled up a bunch of weeds, there’s still a lot more to do but I’ll save that for another day and maybe get Brandon to help out.

Overall our weekend was great and I have no complaints, if every weekend was this enjoyable life would be perfect.
