So there was some sort of van attack in North York today, right where Maggie and I use to live around Yonge & Finch.  It must been deliberate since the trail of destruction goes for ~2km and I’m looking forward to finding out what happened.  Sigh I recognize every picture from the area since we use to walk along Yonge St a lot when we were younger. 🙁

Police said that a white van mounted the curb south of Finch and struck pedestrians walking along the sidewalk on Yonge.

There is no word yet on the extent of injuries. Reports indicate pedestrians were struck near the front of North York Civic Centre.

One witness told the Star that there were three victims near Mel Lastman Square.

One person on scene tweeted a photo of a white van on the sidewalk on Yonge, near Poyntz Ave., south of Sheppard Ave.

Police said both the van and the driver are in custody but don’t know the motive or cause of crash.
