So there was a mass shooting in Toronto yesterday and I think the question everyone is asking is why.  What was the motive, the individual according to his family had some severe mental health challenges and from the sounds of it, didn’t acquire his gun legally and the police have been very tight lipped on things.

The man who unleashed bullets on a busy Danforth stretch Sunday night was suffering from “severe mental health challenges” and struggling with psychosis and depression, his devastated family said Monday.

According to police and witness accounts, a gunman identified Monday as Faisal Hussain fired upon groups of people as they were enjoying a night out in Toronto’s Greektown neighbourhood, killing a 10-year-old girl and a 18-year-old woman.

The mayor and many editorials have called called for tighter gun control (ugh), the chances of the gun being legally owned by this individual is low since the RCMP is suppose to screen for troubled individuals so this most likely is an illegal gun and stricter gun control would not have helped.  Unfortunately shit like this happens in all large cities around the world, if we could just legislate crime away huh.

Unfortunately two victims have already passed away and I hope that the rest make a speedy and full recovery.
