Airsoft?!?

So yeah after 4 years I played my first airsoft game at Siege Airsoft, it’s an indoor facility owned by Frank who runs Toronto Airsoft and the venue is pretty good.  Jason, Stephen, Mario, Shawn & Cameron along with Shafi from work and some of Cameron’s friends came along in our group (forgot to take a team photo damn it) so I had a lot of support.  I was a bit nervous as it’s been years since I’ve played, was worried I’d become tentative but when the games started, I was my usual aggressive self.  LOL Jason remarked I was a bit too aggressive at times, moving ahead when he couldn’t back me up.

I did find myself a bit impatient and played solo a lot instead of as a team so something to keep in mind next time.  I also missed having comms as there were many times where I wish I had some backup but couldn’t call for anyone…

The video is unedited so it’s like 15 minutes long but if you watch it you can see that yeah I’m as aggressive as the situation allows.  Shafi remarked how surprised he was that I’m always running around, I told him I may not look like it but I have excellent stamina. 😉  For weapons I was using a CA MP5K, VFC VP9 and had a couple of Airsoft Innovations Cyclone grenades (though I had a lot of trouble with them for some reason).  Jason said it’s possible to play the field with just a pistol, he was only running a side arm and a 40mm launcher but I felt I needed an AEG as there were just so many people and I needed more range than my pistol would allow.  I’m getting my PTW back (yay), the MP5K was great as it’s small and really maneuverable but the range is just too short.  With that said though had I been running my PTW, I might have had a hard time getting as close…

I may be back in but won’t play as much as I did in the past, that and for now anyway I’ll stick to skirmishes as I don’t want to devote the time required to play mil sims.  A side bonus, I’m not as sore as I thought I’d be and still in good enough shape to run around for 5 hours though with less gear than usual.

Haha I’m sure we’ll be talking about it at work tomorrow, Shafi & Jason will tell the other guys what they missed.
