So as I drove by my home to pick up Brandon from school, I saw that there was a large Norm Kelly sign on my lawn, odd since while Maggie and I are quite politically active do not allow lawn signs.  Just to be sure I texted Maggie to see if she gave them approval, she said no and we also checked with her parents, they confirmed that no one came to the house to ask them either.

Anyway there was a flyer in my mailbox thanking me for my support so I called them to tell them that there was some sort of error. The campaign lady who I talked to went on a tirade about how if the sign is there, someone must have given permission & that Mr. Kelly and his volunteers have been canvassing my area so they must have spoke to me then.  I replied that no, neither my wife OK’ed it and that I want it removed, but instead of acquiesce to my demand, she suggested that I should keep it up because Mr. Kelly is popular and a lot of my neighbors have his sign on their lawns.

As one can imagine by this time I’m upset at the whole ordeal so I told her that all I wanted to hear was “there must have been some mistake and we’ll pick up the sign” but no she continued to argue that there was no mistake!  Originally she said her name was Grace Kelly so I was wondering if she were related to Mr. Kelly, when I asked for her name again and to speak to a supervisor, she changed it to Wendy, that no one else was there and hung up.

WTF?!?

Well I pulled the sign out, placed it into my garage and I called Mr. Kelly’s council office to complain, unfortunately it was well after business hours so I had to leave a VM.  I’ll call both the campaign and council office again tomorrow but if they want this stupid thing back I’m expecting an apology.  If I come back tomorrow and it’s been taken from my garage then I know it’s the campaign and you can bet I’m going to press charges for unlawful entry!

It’s too bad, I actually agree with many of Norm Kelly’s policies but his campaign staff is nuts.
