What a weekend

Well this weekend was certainly busy and the fun started on Friday night.  Stephen, Jason and I hit up Siege to play some airsoft and it was freaking awesome.  There were about 20 players, so the field was busy but it wasn’t a meat grinder like the last two times I went, we had a lot more freedom of movement and I really appreciated that.  We played well together and even Jason admitted at the end of the night that having comms between just the 3 of us was beneficial.  I also reacquired my old Systema PTW, Tom took it apart for some reason so I put everything back together and it shoots so nicely, it’s like it never left my hands!  Topped it off with the Elcan SpecterDR, I changed the Docter mini RDS on top with the NcSTARr one because while I can protect the Elcan, if the Docter gets shot out, that’s $350 down the drain instead of $80 for the NcSTAR.

At the end of the night there was a low light game and man, that game just wasn’t fair…  When playing airsoft I always have my PVS-14 on my back so I was ready to go and it was obvious that the other players were not use to going up against night vision, it was a slaughter.  Just myself alone pushed the opposing team back to their spawn, I didn’t spawn camp as that’s not sporting but most players were very passive trying to hide which simply doesn’t work going against NV.

Thanks to the awesome game, I felt good all weekend though my arms and back are still a bit sore.

This weekend you may have seen some Beavers, Cubs & Scouts canvassing for donations, it was our Apple day fund raiser and of course Brandon participated

Hehe it’s the little guy’s first Apple Day as a Cub scout and well he’s not as cute in that uniform lol.  We did the morning shift and in the afternoon it was the usual load of activities.

This morning we took the family and my in laws to the Morningside Park, I know it’s late in the season but we were hoping to maybe see some salmon.

We only saw a few carcasses of the fish (which were pretty darn big) but it was still fun walking through the park. 🙂  Maggie played badminton in the afternoon, Brandon went to Michael’s house for a play date and I went to Sail to pick up a new pack, bought the Osprey Momentum 26.  I really liked my old Woods backpack but the zipper was separating from the fabric so I didn’t have much of a choice.  This is more of a biker’s backpack which is good because it has two deep side pockets, good for my camera crap lol.  It can also hold a laptop or my Surface tablet securely and is built very tough with a lifetime warranty so woo I should be good to go for a while.

Back to the grind tomorrow, sigh while I enjoy my job I wish I could win the lottery. 😉
