Where’s the punishment?

I’m not always a bleeding heart liberal, I don’t get why this guy didn’t get a tougher sentence…

Ronjot Singh Dhami, 25, was given a 12 month sentence today at a Brampton court after previously pleading guilty to aggravated assault. However, he was given credit for time served in custody, so he has already done his time.

At the court appearance, Dhami apologized to the victim and his family, although said he knows “it won’t be accepted.”

That last statement pisses me off, it’s not up to him if an apology is accepted and if he did that to someone I cared about i’d tell him to shove his apology…  Also what’s the deal with the being banned to possess prohibited weapons for life, everyone is already banned from that by default!  I have my gun license and I can’t have any prohibited weapons, there is no way for someone to get their hands on a prohibited weapon unless they were grandfathered and that means only if you had it before 1995, I highly doubt he had any at 2 years old…
