Man today was busy! Things started off with the Magna children’s Christmas party and it was alright, the venue was a bit small for the number of families but Brandon had a good time and it was nice to meet some of Maggie’s coworkers. There were plenty of kid activities and of course Brandon did them all…
Hehe doesn’t he look all fancy dressed up? 😉 Magna would comp presents up to $35 so we picked up Brandon a really nice Beyblade stadium and he was really happy to get it. We played with it in the evening and it has multiple levels and supports up to 4 players. They had a lady who was doing bubble tricks and that was pretty neat, she was nice and gave every kid who wanted a bubble helmet. Oh the last pic was just because I thought it was cool, two green cars… The new Nissan LEAF looks so much more like a regular car and it’s something we’d consider getting since it’s relatively inexpensive. We’ll see what the new year brings…
In the afternoon I had to drive to Brampton because I picked up a used Canon 580EX II Speedlite for $150. It’s an excellent Speedlite and with a rubber gasket around the foot that covers the hot shoe, it means I can use it outdoors in the rain as well!
Was really happy to get this thing, my previous Yongnuo YN568EX III, while it worked in manual mode I couldn’t get ETTL to work on either my older 70D or the new 6D MK II. The Canon 580EX II worked like a charm, not surprising I guess since it’s the same brand and not a generic knock off.
The little guy had a birthday party in the late afternoon/evening and I picked him up just after dinner. At home, we played some Beyblades and relaxed, I’m going to the range with Mario tomorrow so I’ll need to sleep early tonight.
