Man it’s cold!

So winter is finally upon us here in Toronto and things were nice while they lasted.  ~12-15 cm of snow fell yesterday and overnight so first thing this morning I shoveled and cleared the driveway.  Maggie & Brandon went to play badminton in the morning and I stayed at home doing a bit of cleaning and work, I also got a few toys today. 😀

I ordered extension tubes from Amazon which were like $28 so if it didn’t work out well meh not a big deal and but they did and now I have the world of macro photography in front of me.  The middle picture shows the cap at the minimum focus distance with my Canon 24-105 F4L IS USM lens (45cm) zoomed all the way to 105mm.  I was messing around and when I add all the extension tubes (65mm), the cap was within millimeters of my front element. Detail is great, I find with so much extension I need to focus manually but with Live View, it’s not too hard.

I also took some pictures of Slinky because well it’s fun and I think they turned out really well.

Hehe he was really tired and man my Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS II USM lens is so much damn fun to use, my absolute favorite.  Mmm love the bokeh, the blur is so smooth…  I’m not done yet though tonight I’ll be taking pictures of the super blood moon since the skies are clear, not sure if I’m going to do it in my front yard or not, last time I was trying to take a pic of the moon it was really blurry even though I was on a tripod, I think the atmosphere in the city was messing things up.  If that’s the case tonight, I’ll drive into the country to do it but we’ll see.  Pics tomorrow, man i’m having way too much fun!
