So this weekend was the Lunar New Year and well we didn’t celebrate. In fact I sent Brandon off to a Cub scout camp (didn’t know it was CNY) and since Maggie was doing her usual things, I went out with Eddy yesterday to take some photos around town. It rained Friday pretty heavily and was spitting on Saturday, that’s not a bad thing as the dreariness can make for some interesting photos. I met up with him just after 3pm and we walked around quite a few places.
We started with graffiti alley just south of Queen and having all the water on the ground was a lot of fun. I love trying to do water reflection photography and on a side note I’m glad I was wearing waterproof sneakers! We then walked up to China town, back down to Queen, had dinner and went to the Distillery to take some neat night photos and I think it worked out well. Lastly we went to Polson pier to snap a photo of the city, by the water it was pretty cold with the strong wind.
I got to use my new Canon RF 24-70 F2.8L IS lens, that thing is pretty damn sweet and also ran with the Canon EF 16-35 F4L IS. I’ll pick up the RF 15-35 F2.8L IS at a later point but the 16-35 still takes some great photos.
We wrapped things up relatively early around 9pm, then I went home.
Today I picked up Brandon from the Blue Springs Scout Reserve and am glad to have the boy back. I always think if the zombies come, how the hell am I going to make it out there to rescue him but luckily he’s home safe and sound. 😉 Did some cleaning and just relaxing the rest of the day.
