It’s the guns duh!

So I’ve held off on posting about the rampage in Nova Scotia over the past weekend because a lot of details were missing but enough have come out that I think I can begin to comment.  First thing is the local RCMP’s response was absolutely terrible and it definitely cost lives.  No law enforcement agency or emergency response should ever be sent out on Twitter only and it’s absolutely ridiculous that they thought it was ok.  An emergency alert sent out over the phone would have definitely saved some lives since some of the victims shot were out and about doing their daily tasks.

I know some people who like to buy old police cruisers but how the hell is a private citizen able to put together that looks so authentic?  The car and uniform definitely allowed him to kill many more people than had he looked like a private citizen, I mean if a cop tells you to do something even if he has his guns out, you’re more likely to do it or let them approach.

Finally his guns were acquired illegally but that’s obviously the problem!  Gun control advocates and the PM have already discussed banning assault weapons even though the shooter didn’t use one.  Now I don’t know that for a fact but if he did use something like an AR-15 I believe that’d be the first thing that’s plastered all over the place.

Police say he was likely using unlicensed firearms, and investigators are trying find out how he obtained illegal weapons.

There’s a lot to digest here but if you come to the conclusion that it’s the guns that were the problem, you’re obviously not a deep thinker.  Gun control is not the answer to the rampage, he didn’t follow the rules anyway so how would more laws change things?

Ridiculous rather we should build profiles on these mass shooters, see what the common traits are and deal with them before they crack.
