Lots of photos

I guess my weekend started on Friday after lunch, I took Brandon to the drive through exhibit at the Toronto zoo and it was alright.  There was a super long line, to drive through everything takes about an hour but getting there took about an hour as well.  It was neat to have our own little zoo mobile, though since we went in the middle of the day, most of the animals were sleeping.  Recommend people interested go first thing in the morning.

Didn’t do much the rest of the day other than cleaning.

Saturday was busy, started off at 6:30 am in the morning, I got up to go to the dump to drop off some trash from and my god was the line up long.  2nd weekend that transfer station was open to the public and when I got into line, I was well over 700 meters away.  I didn’t get to leave the facility till ~8:20 am what a disaster since I was to meet Mikey & Mario at Tommy Thompson park for a walk to take pictures of the birds.  I was about 30 minutes late but they knew as I called both about it already.

The park was fairly busy but we took the path off the main road and there weren’t many people around, that and the wild grasses haven’t grown very tall yet so it was pretty easy to social distance.  It’s such an amazing park to walk through, not only are there a ton of different types of birds but they’re not afraid of people too so you can get really close!

We were there for about 3 hours and I think all of us got sun burnt but it was worth it, the pics were great and man I have to say I absolutely love the Canon EF 100-400 MKII lens.  For most of the pictures I had the Canon EF 1.4x MKIII extender in place so I could get a bit more reach and it worked out really well, the pictures were still very sharp.

Saturday afternoon when I got home, we went for a drive and ended up in Port Perry and walked around the water.

Yes it was busy out, we probably didn’t do social distancing as well as we should have but I think we’re alright…  There was a swift breeze off the water so hopefully anything bad would have been blown away.

This morning I mowed the lawn and got Brandon to help me pluck some of the weeds.  Yeah my backyard is really bad but we got time to make it right. 🙂  We wanted to go on a hike but there were SO many people out on the trails we decided to just drive around instead.

In the evening I set up one of my biofuel camp stoves for fun, we found some confidential documents that Maggie wanted to get rid of so I burnt them lol.  I didn’t leave my fire extingisher there on the table, was just placed there for the photo so people know I was doing things responsibly. 😉

Good weekend, I have stuff to rant about but that can wait till tomorrow.
