Man did we have a fun father’s day weekend! Saturday Brandon and I went to Colonel Samuel Smith park to take photos with my friends Mario & Andrew and it was great. Going through the photos I’ve determined that Brandon is a much better photographer than I am and even though we went to shoot birds I think he got the picture of the day by capturing a snake eating a mouse, that was in focus. I couldn’t get it but the boy somehow did it…
Yeah I took a lot of photos but it was worth it. Here what Brandon did, we took a lot of the same pictures but he got a few really good ones.
Again I think the snake photo he took was the best,.. I recently upgraded his camera to a Canon M50 mirrorless which was a decent step up from the Rebel T4i and he’s making full use of it, I’m very proud of the little guy. I lent Mario my Canon 100-400 MKII lens to use and he loved it, that thing is super sharp and a really great wildlife lens, for the second half of the adventure I was using the Canon RF 70-200 F2.8L IS lens and you know what, it’s pretty darn good too. Yeah I don’t get the reach but the image quality is amazing.
This morning Brandon gave me an absolutely amazing fathers day gift.
He made me a paper Canon camera and I absolutely love it! There’s a shutter button and the screen even has a happy face on it. He’s such a happy wonderful son and I couldn’t be luckier to be his dad. I will keep this forever, along with much of his art, it’s the stuff I treasure the most.
We headed over to Megan’s house so the family could have a swim and stayed for a BBQ.
Since my mom is a senior and Estelle has her social circle already they didn’t come which was too bad but it was nice to see Frank, Megan and of course Lily. She’s almost 1, has gotten so big and I absolutely love squeezing her thighs lol. We left after lunch and came home, did nothing the rest of the day other then relax and it’s exactly what I needed.
I am a very lucky man to have what I do and today was absolutely perfect.
