So today Brandon and I were suppose to go to the Cub Scout bike ride but the weather was so cold & poor that we skipped it. To be fair, Brandon outgrew his wet weather gear and I didn’t want him to be miserable for the trip so we stayed home all day. Didn’t do too much, I cleaned the basement a bit and Slinky was pretty cuddly which is fun.
The picture of Slinky was with the Canon EOS RP & the RF 70-200 F28L IS USM lens, unfortunately it’s focused on his nose instead of eyes. Ahh well it has a more primitive autofocus system compared to my Canon EOS R5 and I should have used spot AF instead of auto zone. Next photo was just for fun, shot with my cell phone but the gear we were using at the zoo. I really love the Canon EF 100-400 IS MKII lens but am tempted to get the newer RF 100-500 version instead. Not sure if I posted this earlier but I decided to get rid of the RF 24-240 lens, the boy doesn’t really shoot close stuff and much prefers the tele side of things so he was using a Canon EF 70-300 IS II USM lens. He enjoyed it but looking at the photos, it doesn’t seem that sharp but for some reason his shutter was set way too low when we were at the zoo yesterday.
Not that he cares but it bothers me, lol man what a lucky kid to have the gear he has eh… Anyway will give it another outing to see how it is before I decide if I’ll keep it or not.
Back to the grind tomorrow, while I’m lucky to like my job I also sometimes think how much fun it’d be to be retired. 😉
