Congrat’s Mike and Ange!

At the spur of the moment, Maggie and I decided to go to Sudbury at 10PM on Friday night instead of Saturday morning so we’d be fresh for Mike’s wedding. For those who don’t know, Sudbury is about 400km away from Toronto and we made pretty good time getting there in about 3 hrs 20 minutes. πŸ˜€ Heh I like driving at night, there’s a greater sense of adventure and the drive there was a lot of fun.

Wedding day was a lot of fun and everything was held at a rented Canadian Royal Legion Hall. At first glance, the Legion Hall looked a bit crummy (I forgot to take a pic of the outside :() but I soon saw why it was chosen. The Legion Hall sits on top of a hill overlooking a lake and the view is just beautiful! With the wedding held outdoors, it made sense and who cares how the building looks with a view like this? πŸ˜‰

Here is a picture of Mike and his son Devin, don’t they look alike? πŸ™‚

The wedding was nice and the crowd certainly was enthusiastic. Maggie and I didn’t get to spend much time with the bride and groom, after the ceremony they went to take pictures for like 4 hours. To kill the time between the ceremony and reception, Maggie and I drove around Sudbury the city is very pretty. If I had to guess, I would say the residents of Sudbury are not use to seeing asians, everywhere we went the people would stare in our direction.

Of course much of Sudbury’s economy relies on mining and its impact on the environment is immediately noticable.

The last picture breaks my heart and the pollution cloud was huge and extended for kilometers. πŸ™

Anyway getting back to the wedding reception, it was alright but Mike promised to sit me with some pretty girls instead I was at an all guy table. It’s alright though I got a lot of dirt from his friends which I can use for blackmail in the future. πŸ˜‰ All in all the day went pretty well and I don’t think Mike and Ange could have asked for a better day. Maggie and I left at around 9PM and got back just before 1AM on Sunday. We had an excellent time and I want to thank Mike, Ange and Dev again for allowing us to share this wonderful moment.

Hehe I’m still in Ange’s good books, I wonder how long that will last if I keep dragging Mike to airsoft games. πŸ˜‰
