So Canadians voted and we now have another Liberal minority government, albeit a pretty strong one with 168 seats (172 required for a majority). It’s not the result I wanted but we have a parliamentary system of government so I guess we’ll see what comes of it. I really hope that Prime Minister Carney cleans house and gets rid of all the Trudeau staffers that still surround him and also does not have a cabinet full of Trudeau ministers.
Too bad the only social issue that he talked about during the campaign was guns and how he’ll continue with the confiscation but only a small number of people care about that. I do worry a lot about the budget, Canada has been spending well beyond its means and while I know that the federal budget is not like a household budget, it still an only borrow so much.
Boomers were scared of Trump and went with the Liberals, let’s see how long this government lasts.
