Yay for Canada day weekend

So I certainly had a fun/busy weekend and I hope you did as well.

Things started off early after I dropped Maggie off at the subway I took Brandon to Earl Bales park to play. It was ~8:30AM in the morning and I figure most of the big kids wouldn’t be there yet and I was right, he had the playground to himself for pretty much 30 minutes which was nice. After the older children started to arrive we played mainly in the little kid area as I didn’t want him to get in the way and possibly get hurt.

Afterwards we went home and chilled there, he’s always a bundle of energy so I was climbing up and down the stairs a lot lol. When he woke up from his afternoon nap, I took him to Center Point mall, he wanted to go out but it was freaking hot so I figure a walk around the mall may be more fun. He wasn’t much in the walking mood so I had to carry him around and he’s pretty freaking heavy lol. On the way out I dropped by the dollar store and he loved all the cheap toys on the wall, I tried to steer him towards the sports cars but he would have none of it and wanted this truck combo… Sigh what is it about trucks that’s so awesome?

We called it a night early as the next day we were going to Buffalo as a family…

Saturday morning started early for me, I went to use the bathroom at 3:30AM and couldn’t fall back asleep afterwards so I went downstairs to watch some TV and there was nothing good on as usual. Come 6AM Maggie gets up, we start to prep for our trip and at 6:30AM we finally grab Brandon. Initially I was hoping he’d stay asleep the entire time but as I carried him down the stairs he woke up. After buckling him in, we went to my parents place to pick them up as I invited them to come with earlier in the week.

It was a tight squeeze for the 5 of us in my Toyota Matrix but luckily my mother and Maggie are small. The trip went well and Brandon wasn’t super fussy during the drive there and back so I consider myself fortunate. I didn’t buy much, the only thing I’m super happy about is scoring a set of Oakley S.I. Assault Boots in tan for $75US!

Sunday morning Maggie and I took Brandon to a local park at Yonge & Finch that had a water fountain play area for kids and Brandon loved it. He was a bit scared so he didn’t actually run through the fountain but he did run around the periphery and get all wet. Hehe the swimming trunks we bought for him the day before were too big and kept slipping off, it was pretty funny.

We didn’t do too much afterwards and Monday we pretty much stayed home and relaxed.

Sigh 4 day weekends go so fast… Oh well it’s always fun when you have a son like Brandon. 🙂
