My coworker Mike was interested into getting into airsoft (uh oh!) after seeing pictures from games Maggie and I played last year. Without blowing a lot of money and having to deal with the cold, I figure some CQB action at TTAC3 would be a good introduction. π
Unfortunately the scenario that we played most of the night was house entry and that’s difficult even for experienced players, oh well that didn’t stop us from having fun. π Anyway we ended up on the same team (kind of wish we were on different sides so we could shoot each other) and Mike played pretty well for his first game and even got a few kills! Mike played like a newbie which means his positioning was all off and was very passive but that’s normal. Covering angles and learning to be aggressive comes with experience, hopefully I can drag him out to a few more matches. π
It’s a shame Mike couldn’t stick around longer because as he was leaving, people were rearranging the scenario more for a skirmish and he probably would have enjoyed that more. Oh well I guess I have to pull him out for another game again in the future! Next time we’ll be on opposing teams. π Here are a few pics that was snapped, no action shots because we were busy playing.
Most of the night Mike was using the Hi Capa 4.3 pistol, it’s easier for novice players to learn the ropes with hand guns. Heh before the night ended, Mike said he wanted to run point and get blasted and well… that’s exactly what happened. Now he’ll have some scars to show off on Monday. π
I also got a new toy on Friday, I picked up Stephen’s CA M15A4 CQB AEG. π
I missed having a M4/M16 style gun and didn’t expect to get an Armalite so soon. Figure I’d get one later into the season but oh well, isn’t it a beaut? The gun is very solid, is made of metal, has a crane stock and a very nice RIS. It’s amazing what a few years can do in the airsoft scene, Classic Army AEGs use to be junk but now I’d wager to say they’re on par with Tokyo Marui.
Stephen certainly took good care of the gun and it shoots a very consistent 330 fps with 0.2g BB’s. I didn’t play that well with the M15A4 CQB last night because I couldn’t use the sights but I’ll put a red dot on it soon which should change things. π The gun is very satisfying to shoot and its small size allows it to be used in CQB situations well. I plan to use it on the field too so I guess I’d better get a tightbore to compensate for the shorter barrel. π Thanks again Stephen for everything!
