Maggie’s mom arrived from China last night safe and sound, she missed Brandon very much and came to Canada so she can be with him for a bit again. When she walked to to the general area and saw Brandon, you could see the joy in her face. 🙂 At the airport Brandon didn’t want to be held by her but by the time we got home, he warmed up and was playing with his grandmother.

Hehe while we were waiting for the plane to land and clear, we went to the airport’s Tim Hortons and Brandon is so greedy! His favorite hobby is to eat, boy can he stuff things away…

Conflicted

When we got home, Maggie’s mom gave us $10k as a gift for buying a new house and frankly I don’t feel it’s right to accept such a large amount of money. I know Maggie’s folks are well off (but not typical Chinese showy, they’re very modest) but it just feels wrong, no one has ever given me that type of money before and I take a lot of pride in knowing that everything I have, I worked for myself.

At the same time, it’s not very nice to reject a gift like that as I know there are no strings attached and that her parents are doing it from the kindness of their heart… I mean I could use the money to pay off our LOC or perhaps just rebuild our savings but still it’s something that I’m uncomfortable with.

When I figure out what we’ll do I’ll post it up.
