As a quasi tree hugger I don’t own a car, I work downtown and can get by on public transit. This wknd however Maggie and I have a few errands to run so we decided to rent one (I’m not carrying two CRT monitors to the waste depot on the bus!) Unfortunately she had a small single car accident in a garage, she hit a column and there was damaged the bumper. Heh rather surprisingly I was quite calm when she told me about the situation and after dinner I went out to inspect things.

Despite the low speed collision, there is considerable damage to the bumper and some of the panelling of the car. After snapping a few pictures for reference I called up CIBC Visa, after all car rental insurance is included in its Platinum Dividend card. The CSR I talked to was very friendly and after about 20 minutes of discussion, he told me that CIBC Visa would take care of everything! Just give Avis the claim number and that’s all we need to do. Damn that’s pretty sweet service wouldn’t you say? 😀 LOL that $150 I pay in membership fee certainly paid off this time…
