On Saturday Maggie and I played an airsoft game hosted by Charlene at CampX. Initially we only wanted about 20 players but there ended up being 35 at the height of things. Realistically 30+ players at a small field like CampX is too much but overall it was still fun.

Charlene was quite nervous since it was her first time hosting a game and she did a great job. For the most part I had a good time although I had a bit of an issue with the Rangers team. The guys individually are great and I like many of them however their style of play is well very frustrating. They really camp the shit out of things even though all games required an aggressive style of play.

There was one particular issue that bothered me, at the end of one game one of the Rangers members (someone I did not recognize) asked whether we at any time in the game had possession of the case (which was to be delivered to the opposition’s base). I had to remark that it was myself and another guy who basically brought the case 3/4 way to their side when we ran into them camping (what else is new). After taking out my teammate they (six vs one!) just lobbed shots at me for five minutes and all I was armed with was a pistol… I was able to take one of them out but realistically I was completely outgunned. That type of arrogance is really annoying, if I had other GHOSTS with me we no doubt would wipe the floor with them. It’s not like they’re a great team either, their usual tactic is to bore the other side to death.

The Rangers team split at about 2:30-3:00PM and without much surprise the games after were much faster and more enjoyable. Even some of the Wolfpack guys noticed the same thing… Sorry for the mini rant, I don’t enjoy playing with campers but if you’re going to camp don’t be so cocky. Realistically when attacking a defended position, you need double the number of attackers to defenders. I guess what I find most frustrating is when they camp even though they’re suppose to advance and be aggressive.

Despite the above complaining I had a good day and Charlene did a great job, I hope she does it again. 🙂 I found it amusing that a paintballer was hitting on Maggie… I didn’t do anything, she’s coming home with me after all. 😉 Half of the GHOSTS and Carl went out for dinner after the game and that was fun too.
