Well I certainly had a busy weekend and I guess I’ll start from the beginning. 😉 Friday afternoon I wasn’t feeling so well so I left work early and look what greeted me when I got home…

I traded my STAR M249 MKII LMG for an upgraded Maruzen Type 96 bolt action spring rifle and man I have to say this thing is an absolute beauty! While I’m not sure if I’ll like the “sniper” role, I’ve always loved the look of the Accuracy International L96A1. The gun was painted by the previous owner and it looks very nice. Pictures don’t do the gun justice, it looks great in person.

Friday night Charlene had arranged a surprise party for Mark, it was his 30th and you can bet I would attend. Most of the guys from the team made it out along with some of Mark’s old friends, his brother and parents. Heh I was able to capture the look on Mark’s face when he realized what was going on. 😀

Absolute gold! To say he was surprised is an understatement, I don’t think I’ve seen a bigger smile on his face after ever and I’ve known the guy for like 8 years. I promised I’d have a drink with him so I grabbed a pint of Stella Artois and that stuff was gross! I wasn’t able to finish it, it was just too bitter but hey I had some alcohol so I did technically fulfill my promise. 😉

Saturday most of the team and I hit a game Jim was hosting at Wasaga. Having not played for over two months, I was worried about being able to survive the tough terrain. Overall the day went pretty well, I was definitely rusty and playing with the Maruzen Type 96 in the morning was difficult (I was too aggressive) but I learnt a lot. With a weapon like that playing passively is better, I need to learn patience.

There are a few pictures that were taken, I used the MG36 a bit but ran most of the day with just pistols. Despite the relatively low temperature the guns worked pretty well and I got plenty of kills after I started playing very aggressively. 🙂

On Sunday Maggie and I went to see a few houses and that was fun. I didn’t want to go at first but I’m glad I did because we saw a few places that we liked. Have to sleep on things though because I don’t want to be too impulsive. 😉
