Cheap Chinese ammo drying up…

So there’s a lot of doom and gloom about inexpensive Norinco ammo drying up in Canada. According to a large retailer the Chinese shipping company can no longer supply Canada with surplus ammunition because the boats hit US harbours before coming to Canada, that’s a problem because the US has banned both Chinese weapons and ammunition. Why it’s kicking in now I don’t know (the ban was put in place in 1993) but yeah it sucks, Brian bought a case of surplus XM193 5.56×45 ammo from Lanz on Saturday and I just ordered a case from Al Flaherty’s.

I already have ~700 cartridges of 5.56 at home, so with this case I should be good for the rest of the year but I’m still considering getting a second case. LOL it’s not perishable and I’ll eventually go through it so sitting on it doesn’t really hurt. 🙂

I also need some more 7.62×39 too but there are many countries supplying that and I think my local Lebaron has 1,440 rounds for $~250. Hmm on that mental note to myself, get more 9mm, .45 ACP and 12GA slugs too. Sigh shooting is expensive, it’s loads of fun but yeah expensive…
