So this morning I decided to work from home because the check engine light popped back up and I want the issue to be taken care of once and for all. Anyway after dropping Maggie off, I went to Don Valley North Toyota and while I understand it’s not the service rep’s fault I was pretty frustrated and told them that this is the last time I’ll take my car there if they can’t fix the issue.
For the record when I took the picture of my dash, I had just started the car and was in my driveway. 😉 Also I keep a swiffer in car, the camera flash makes things look dustier than they really are. Or maybe lol it illuminates the dust that I just didn’t notice! DVN Toyota is busy even at 8AM in the morning on a Wednesday.
After getting dropped off at home I get a call a bit later and the service rep tells me the car needs a new air fuel sensor and that the oxygen sensor may be faulty as well. The former may affect the latter’s readings so I told him to change the air fuel sensor first and I’ll hold off on the other one till it’s needed. I was assured that these senors do not affect the safety or efficiency of the car so if I can defer spending $400 to replace the second sensor I will.
Anyway I get my car back just after lunch and after taking for a quick drive I’m happy to report that everything seems normal. Praise jebus and let’s see how long this lasts… Maintenance is obviously a necessity and I’ll spend whatever I have to do to keep the car running but it’s just frustrating when it’s something after another for 2 months and 5 visits straight.
In any case I’ll be buying a second car soon, yeah I wanted to do it earlier but I blame the roof. 😉 Not sure what I’ll get just yet, guess I’ll figure it out when I am ready.
