Well I certainly had a busy weekend!!! Saturday is typically a write off with all of Brandon’s activities but the saving grace is that the little guy is getting better and trying hard with all 3 sports we’ve enrolled him in. Though he can be a bit lazy with soccer I can see that he’s making effort and as a parent that’s all I can ask, I don’t care if he’s good, all I ask for is that he tries. My sisters arranged a family dinner at Frankie Tomatoes so just before skating class my mom came over so we could take one car to the restaurant. Hehe she was pleased to see how well Brandon is skating now, he’s not super coordinated but he’s getting better. 🙂
Anyway while my birthday is today, it was easier to celebrate on Saturday night so we had a little get together, my dad wasn’t present though as it slipped his mind lol. I’ll say this, he’s lucky because if he did that to my sisters I think they’d be upset, myself I don’t really care. 😉 Unfortunately the Frankie Tomatoes doesn’t take reservations so we showed up and waited for about 45 minutes before getting a table but it was fun to talk to Imran & Estelle especially since they purchased a house. I seemed more excited about it than they did but the realities of owning a home will hit them pretty fast and they close at the end of December.
Heh they told the restaurant it was my birthday so I got the song and dance, the tomato shaped balloon was pretty cute. 😉 The food was really good I stuffed myself as I love pasta and the night went very well so I was happy.
Sunday we decided to go to Walmart early on, if Brandon is good at sports we usually pick him up something. While we were walking through the toy isle I saw this pistol kit and thought it was cute that they did a plastic replica of the Blackhawk Serpa and the drop leg platform. It’s a pretty good knock off and looked similar to the one had many years ago. I don’t know why Maggie likes the McDonalds junk breakfasts but she shared a pancake breakfast with Brandon.
Brandon and I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon together as Maggie went to play badminton with her friends and then went to a shoe sale and the little guy loved his new RC TMNT Shellraiser. It fires plastic sewer lids and he set up all the bad guy characters from TMNT that he had and mowed them all down lol.
My mom came by around 3PM to look after Brandon as Maggie and I had to go to Jeremy & Tey’s wedding reception. I typically hate Sunday weddings but meh that’s how it goes sometimes and it was a lot of fun. 🙂 It was a small reception out in Milton and a lot of the guys came, not everyone from the team unfortunately as the place was pretty small but a good portion anyway. I didn’t take many pictures but a few of the other guys did and when those photos are available I’ll steal them and post them here but I did get one taken of Maggie and I.
It was a nice and intimate affair and I’m glad I went to celebrate the joyous occasion. We didn’t stay very long, just a bit past 9PM as we have work the next day but we had a great time and I wish the happy couple many years of love and happiness. 🙂
Heh it’s not so bad for me today, I’m working from home because I have a parent teacher interview in the mid afternoon so I’m going to be celebrating my birthday mainly by myself lol, or at least till the family comes home.
