It sure is nice to drive my own car again, rentals will do in a pinch but it’s just not the same.  We’ve been talking about it for a little bit but I think this year we’ll finally spring for a second car, got away with it this long but I guess it’s inevitable.  I’m thinking about picking up a Toyota Prius for myself, Maggie can have the Matrix but every now and then I look at BMWs and other nicer cars but nah I don’t really care about what I drive and I like how efficient the Prius is.

Today was pretty busy, good but busy.  In the morning we went grocery shopping and unfortunately I forgot to buy some ice cream. 🙁  For lunch we went to have some dim sum, we sat in a great spot and I got to eat everything I wanted woo!  Nothing is more frustrating than to have people push food around that you’re not interested in.  At 2PM Brandon went swimming as usual and he’s making some decent progress, he’s kicking better and is learning how to breath properly.

After class, I dropped them off at home and went to Home Depot to pick up some cleaning supplies.  Tomorrow afternoon Maggie is taking Brandon to get a hair cut and I’ll use that opportunity to clean up the place as the house needs some attention.  When I got back, Brandon and I hung around in the basement to let Maggie nap and he’s so full of energy all the time.  In the evening after dinner we went to Brandon’s skating class and he’s doing well in this sport as well. 🙂  I don’t care if he’s good, all I want is that he tries and when I watch him skate I see him making an effort.

I’m also particularly happy with myself too I was able to score a great trade in my favor, my EOTech 552 for a used Beretta 96D (.40 S&W) pistol & 3 mags.  The gun is a police trade-in, the other guy is in rural Alberta and only has dial-up internet access so I couldn’t get any pictures but he assures me it’s in good condition (I don’t care about dings, as long as it works) and he has an excellent trader rating on CGN so I’m not too worried.

I would have preferred a DA/SA model but I guess I can’t be too picky here and the Beretta 96D is the DAO version.  I’ll most likely flip it down the line the last thing I really want is another caliber to support, sigh if it were only 9mm.  Anyway it’ll take a couple of weeks for it to arrive (lots of paperwork) but when it does, off to the range I go. 😉
