More bang bang

So today I went to Silverdale with Eric (I like having company) and it was a lot of fun. I got my new S&W M&P22, it’s a full sized pistol I bought for Maggie chambered in 22LR, she likes that caliber as it’s relatively easy to shoot and she’s not strong enough to rack the Glock 17 slide. Anyway it was the first outing with the gun so I gave it a really good workout and frankly it’s a lot of fun to shoot! I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did but since the gun is light, you can feel a bit of recoil which is nice.

In addition to the gun I also picked up 3 extra mags. I went through a box of Winchester 222 22LR ammo and I experienced 4 or 5 failures to feed and 2 failure to eject but I’m not too worried as a lot of review on the pistol says it needs a bit of a break in and I’m not sure if the cold weather was adversely affecting it. Also, I think all the issues I experienced was in the first 150 rounds or so.

I also practiced with the H&K HK45CT more and got my groupings down to around 2 1/2″ which is great even compared to last week. I really enjoy shooting that thing, too bad .45 ACP is so expensive… I’m saving my brass though as Henry says he can reload some for me, hopefully that’ll cut down on some of the cost.

Happy that Eric had a good time and it was his first opportunity to use his MSA Sordin headset in a RS environment.

We left the field around 12 and got back just before 2 which is nice and leaves the afternoon open to do other things. Myself with no one else at home, I took the opportunity to clean out my pistols, the S&W M&P22 was very grimy but I hear Winchester ammo isn’t the cleanest. Went out a bit later with Stephen and had dinner with him which was fun and after I returned I did a thorough cleaning of my rifles as they haven’t had a “white glove” service in a while.

Now I’m just chilling, ahh what an awesome Saturday.
