Moving is never fun

So today my dad moved in many of the large items from his house to my home and well the day didn’t start off well. I recommended to him the movers that we used twice as they were fair and efficient but when they showed up at his house, I guess they thought they could take him for a bit more and said that the moving costs would be $10/hr more (now $60/hr) and that he would have to pay a $60 fee for the truck…  Needless to say I was outraged and Maggie will be complaining on Monday about that, between us and the rest of our family over the last 3 years we’ve probably used this company 6 times so it’s very disappointing.

With that said though the movers did do a good job and that’s why I always encourage people to go with professionals!  Some of my dad’s stuff went into my man cave (not as much as I would have thought), some into his room and the rest was placed in our garage.  Now that spring is upon us I don’t mind parking the car in the driveway but I would like the garage cleared sooner than later…  My parents also gave us a few items from their house, a nicer TV stand, a 60″ Samsung plasma TV, their old piano and a really nice custom built bench that my father built.

The TV is about 4 years old, plasma technology is old but lol 60″ is still pretty impressive and it noticeably bigger than our old LG 47″ LED TV (which was moved downstairs).  The piano has a lot of sentimental value as it’s the one that my sisters and I learnt on and now another generation of the Sun family (Brandon) can hate playing. 😉  Finally the bench I took from my dad is a custom one he made, it’s 6′ long, about a 1 1/2′ wide and very comfy.  Not sure if he’ll take this one with him if he moves elsewhere in the future but in the mean time it’ll be for people that need a place to sit when they enter or leave my home.

Sigh all this nice swag only cost my parents marriage… 🙁
