I’m not a fan of the Republican party and I couldn’t help but LOL in the office when I read that Rick Santorum, said that the pope should back off and leave science to the scientists.  It’s funny because the right likes to attack climate change science while saying stupid things like “I’m not a scientist” when questioned on their reasons.

On June 16, Pope Francis is expected to release an encyclical letter on the environment, the Catholic Church’s strongest statement to date on the moral issues associated with climate change. It’s a move that has environmentalists very excited — and one GOP presidential nominee less than thrilled.

During an interview with a Philadelphia radio station on Monday, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum — a devout Catholic — said that while he loves Pope Francis, he thinks the Pope should leave discussions about climate change to scientists.

For people who aren’t scientists they sure like to deny climate change is occurring whenever they can, perhaps it’s them who should listen to the experts…  In any case while I don’t agree with all of the Pope’s views, I’m glad he’s a lot more up to date with current events and lives by what he preaches.
