Happy father’s day to me

Brandon was very excited to give me the father’s day gift this morning that made at school…

Hehe I absolutely love it but this, I need to bring to work to proudly display for everyone and so I can glance at it when I’m frustrated.  I couldn’t ask for a better son, anyone would be proud to have a boy like Brandon and I tell Maggie we’ve been blessed. 🙂

Lee was with aunt Chrissie so my mom wanted to have Brandon for the day so the kids could play together, that gave Maggie and I some time to spend together which was nice.  Initially we were thinking about seeing another movie but there wasn’t anything that really interested us so instead we went for a hike at Rouge Valley park.

It was hot and muggy though I guess I should be thankful that there weren’t that many bugs. As you can see in the third picture I was wearing my survival pack and this time because I stuffed it with even more stuff it tipped the scales at over 35 lbs.  Amazing what just a little more weight can do and I found it difficult at times which surprised me because the path we were following was quite easy. I guess I just need to train more so I build up my strength and endurance, haha more going to the park and chasing Brandon with my pack on. 😉

We only hiked for a couple of hours and covered just over 6KM, still even then we were drenched in sweat and note to self buy a small battery powered fan.  LOL I have lots of rechargeable batteries and lots of ways to keep things charged while off the grid so this is a must buy, I’ll try to pick up something this week.

After the hike Maggie and I went for a quick drive, it’s something we both enjoy just listening to the music and enjoying the country scenery. We went home, both took a shower then I picked up Brandon from my mom’s place. She said he had a great time and he had this McD’s balloon tied to his wrist but before going home we went to Dollarama so I could pick up some odds and ends.  Brandon was trying to tie the balloon to his car seat and I told him it wasn’t necessary because it would be safe in the car.

When we were done we were walking to the car so I press and held the unlock key to open the windows and the sun roof, I forgot the balloon was inside and it flew out. 🙁  Brandon was shocked and began to cry, ugh I felt so bad so I bribed him with some Pokemon cards but yeah I felt like a real jerk.  He accepted my apology and said it was alright because it was an accident but man I felt pretty bad about it.  We hung around the house the rest of the evening and now that the boy is asleep I’m relaxing with the few hours I have left…

It was a good day, other than the balloon thing.
