Ahh bang bang!

So today I took Dave (a colleague from work) to the Silverdale and he had a blast. 🙂  It’s his first time shooting guns so of course I bring newbs to the action range, it’s my favorite (I can shoot everything and work on fundamentals) and he shot very well!

With the Glock 17 Dave was able to hit the 4″ steel plate at 10 yards 7/10 times which is very impressive!  I did alright myself and went 8/8 with the H&K HK45CT, something I’m rather proud of. 🙂  We were at the action range for about 2 1/2 hours then we moved to the 200 yard line to fire at the metal gong but a Tulammo 5.56 case got stuck in the chamber again!  I suspect some of the polymer coating on the steel case is sticking to the chamber (especially when I rapid fire) and “gluing” the case in place…  I couldn’t fix it at the range so we had to call it a day but when I got home I stuck a cleaning rod down the barrel and hammered it out.  Darn, Tulammo up until this point has been reliable and it’s cheap but now that it’s happened two times in a row I’m going to consider using something else.

I shot the HK P30L much better than last time, I’ve been working on my trigger pull dry firing in the basement when the family is asleep and I’m starting to get it now.  The trigger is no where near as nice as the HK45CT’s but I’m getting a hang of it. 🙂

After I got home, I gave everything a good scrubbing (especially the AR) and everything is now minty fresh.  I can’t wait to go back, shooting is so much fun. 🙂
