Since this year Brandon’s birthday falls on a Monday, we decided to celebrate today and boy was it fun.  Before left for our adventure though, we gave him his gift early a VTech Kidizoom 1.3mp camera. He likes to tinker with our phones to take pictures so we thought that he’d like his own and he loved it but more on that later.  Just before 8am we headed out as the park opens at 9 but I obviously wasn’t paying attention to the website because the wildlife reserve opens at 10 so we wandered around for about an hour.  Megan & Frank got there for around 10 and we were able to drive through together, us in the Mini and them in his truck.

Brandon loves animals and really enjoyed looking and taking pictures of everything, haha on that note I think he’s a bit of an artist and I’m surprised at some of the things he took pictures of.  I took pictures as well, I think the coolest was when the white lion & lioness were fighting over food, got a few good action shots!

Yeah sorry about all the pictures, I took a lot and we had a lot of fun.  After going through the reserve, we went to see the elephant swim, the birds of prey, uh some elephant show then we went to ride on an elephant.  Unfortunately it was super busy and they needed everyone to double up on elephants unless you had a party of 4 or greater so we were stuck behind another family.  Last year, Brandon was very scared but this year he was just fine and really enjoyed it. 🙂

After the park we first hit up home to drop off some stuff then went to my mom’s place for dinner.  Since my parents don’t really get along my father didn’t attend, I felt a bit bad about it frankly but when I think of the stupid hurtful things he said to me yesterday, well it makes the heartache go away.  I think he really needs to assess what’s important in his life.

Anyway it was fun, we had dinner, the others gave Brandon some gifts then we chilled and talk for a bit then came home.  A very long day and I’m very tired but wanted to post this up before going to bed…  Not sure what we’ll do tomorrow but it’s my boy’s special weekend so I’ll figure something out.
