So something I didn’t mention when we adopted Slinky a couple of weeks ago was that he was saved from a cat hoarder that had 100 cats and that he was exposed to the FeLV. The humane society worker told us, worst case scenario if Slinky is infected he might only have 3-5 years to live and with that information I tried to persuade Brandon to go with another kitten but he had his heart set on Slinky so we went with him. He had tested negative in two previous tests at the shelter but would need one more which we did on Saturday.
Anyway the vet called yesterday and it’s good news, Slinky again tested negative and it’s confirmed that he did not contract that virus! Very happy about that, I was worried what it could mean if he caught it and how Brandon would deal with loss if the cat only lasted a few years but now they can grow up together. 🙂
