As most people know, I follow US politics because it’s a lot more interesting than what happens up here (though Canadian politics is good too) and whatever happens down there affects us in Canada as well.  Why is it when a white person or a Christian does a mass shooting, it’s always that they have a mental illness and their actions don’t represent the masses but when it’s a Muslim person it’s terrorism or when a black person does it, it’s because they’re a thug?

If someone shoots others and does it for political purposes, that’s terrorism.  For instance the Muslim couple who shot up the husband’s workplace, from the looks of it they were going to do something bad yes but the details that emerged so far make the incident sound more like a workplace shooting than a terrorist activity.  If they wanted to terrorize the public, they would have shot up a public venue like some sporting event, a mall or maybe a movie theatre…  Perhaps that was their original intent and the workplace shooting was just the first step but clearly the husband had a beef with the people there so they shot up his coworkers but this is terrorism.

Dylann Roof shot up a black church and wanted to start a race war but that’s not terrorism, the media and right wingers say he’s an individual who was mentally ill. The white guy who shot up Planned Parenthood citing “No more baby parts” when he was arrested, right wing terrorist no way that’s a deranged individual…

They are all cases of domestic terrorism and the simple fact of the matter is that law enforcement in the US is more afraid of right wing threats than they are of Islamic attacks. But then again let’s profile the Muslims and blacks because they’re the threats.
