Almost done!

I was jonsing for a burrito today so for lunch I went to Burrito Boyz at Warden & Eglinton and it was great.

Mmm it looks so good I want to have one now!  One thing that’s nice about eating at the restaurant is that the burrito is nice and hot and boy this was hard to hold.

In the afternoon I worked on the rain barrel and it’s pretty much done woo!

So at the bottom I installed the standard 1/2″ ID outdoor faucet about 4″ from the base, I put an overflow valves at the top (which will be connected to another hose) though i kind of worry that it won’t be big enough to deal with all the water during a heavy rain storm so I may swap that out for something a bit bigger.  On the top, I sandwiched some mosquito netting between two plastic branch filters which will keep all the large debris and bugs from entering the barrel and I’m pretty much set with this thing.

I didn’t hook it up yet because I need Maggie to hold the faucet while I tighten connector inside the barrel and with the weather crappy tomorrow it looks like the earliest I’ll get to it is Friday.

Oh well whatever, in any case this was a lot of fun and I am already thinking about building another for the front yard, overflow from this will go into that and then I can wash my car or water the plants up there with recycled water too. 🙂
